استقبل السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي اليوم السفيرة مريم الكعبي، سفيرة دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة بالقاهرة، وذلك بحضور السيد سامح شكري وزير الخارجية.
وصرح المستشار أحمد فهمي المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية أن السيد الرئيس تسلم خلال اللقاء رسالة خطية من أخيه الشيخ محمد بن زايد رئيس دولة الإمارات، تتضمن دعوة سيادته للمشاركة في القمة العالمية للمناخ COP28، المقرر أن تنعقد بمدينة دبي في شهر ديسمبر المقبل، مع تأكيد حرص الإمارات على تعزيز التعاون المشترك بين البلدين والاستفادة من التجربة المصرية في هذا الإطار، خاصةً في ظل نجاح مصر في استضافة القمة السابقة COP27 بشرم الشيخ على نحو نال تقدير العالم، وكذلك ما نجحت الرئاسة المصرية للقمة في تحقيقه من نتائج إيجابية في العمل المناخي الدولي.
من جانبه؛ طلب السيد الرئيس نقل تحياته إلى أخيه الشيخ محمد بن زايد، مؤكداً ثقة مصر في قيادة الإمارات لقمة المناخ المقبلة في ضوء القدرات الإماراتية المشهود لها بالتميز، ومؤكداً كذلك الحرص المتبادل على تعظيم التعاون ونقل الخبرات المصرية في هذا الصدد، لاسيما في ظل خصوصية العلاقات المصرية الإماراتية، وذلك لضمان خروج القمة بنتائج إيجابية في صالح دعم عمل المناخ الدولي بكافة مكوناته، وكذا مراعاة الشواغل ذات الصلة للدول النامية والأفريقية.
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Egypt, Mariam Al-Kaabi, in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, said President El-Sisi received a letter from the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, inviting him to the World Climate Summit (COP28), scheduled to take place in Dubai in December. This is while stressing the interest of the UAE in strengthening cooperation between the two countries and benefiting form Egypt’s experience in this field, in light of successfully hosting COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh and receiving global recognition, as well as the positive results achieved in international climate action.
President El-Sisi asked for his greetings to be conveyed to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, stressing Egypt’s confidence in the UAE’s leadership of the upcoming climate summit, in light of the outstanding Emirati capabilities. The President also confirmed mutual interest in maximizing cooperation and transferring Egypt’s expertise to ensure a positive outcome for the summit in the interest of supporting international climate action and taking into account the relevant concerns of developing and African countries.
